SHKOON has finally returned with a new concept album, Masrahiya (an Arabic word meaning a play).

Shkoon has once again created a powerful message, with a diverse work of art combined with a concert tour. Masrahiya takes an in-depth look at the blurred boundaries between reality and fiction, where the lines of truth and imagination intertwine like a spellbinding dance. Over the course of three captivating chapters, tragedy, politics and irony intertwine seamlessly, creating a tapestry of emotions that leaves the audience spellbound.

SHKOON creates an atmosphere full of textures and spices, taking his audience into new realms. As well as their own lyrics, the band use ancient traditional musical elements from the Arab community, such as Arabic folklore, which are more relevant today than ever. In their sets, Eastern melodies combine with Western electronics, and their compositions beautifully fuse traditions, highlighting the limitless possibilities of music.

The album falls somewhere between the influences of electronic downbeat, deep house, dub and hip-hop. Piano, violin, synthesizers, percussion and vocals fuse with Eastern melodies and Western electronic rhythms. Audiences will embark on a journey that blurs the boundaries between cultures.
