New Jersey deathcore quintetLORNA SHORE are back with a brand new album, Pain Remains. According to guitarist Adam De Micco, this is the hardest album they've ever had to write. The album title came about during the writing process as Adam recalls going through a lot of personal problems and loss, which were reflected in the songs. Nothing illustrates this better than the three parts that close the album, spanning over 20 minutes, where the listener is assaulted by a sense of scale and raw emotion. Singer Will unleashes a deluge of cascading riffs, animal growls and powerful synthesizers. He says he always wanted to write truly sad death metal.

From the choral vocals and guitarist Andrew O'Connor's orchestration on 'Welcome Back, O' Sleeping Dreamer', to the labyrinth of musical turns, technicality and raw emotion on tracks like 'Sun//Eater' and 'Soulless Existence', LORNA SHORE have created an ambitious, soulful and skilful work that few can match. At just over an hour long, Pain Remains is as far-reaching as any metal album. It thinks big, pushing back preconceptions and musical boundaries.
