In 2011, the world discovered a mysterious British producer masquerading as SBTRKT, with his eponymous debut album marked by a hybrid style, somewhere between Uk garage and post-dubstep, which was a real critical and commercial success, contributing to the heyday of the Young Turks label.

While the years that followed were filled with memorable collaborations, remixes and tours with a fan base that had become worldwide, it was necessary for Aaron Jerome to take a step back from his SBTRKT persona, whose mask recalled his family roots in East Africa, India and Scotland.

At a time when the digital world is multiplying artistic freedoms while imposing the ever-stricter constraints of algorithms, encouraging ever more collaborations and performance strategies on platforms, SBTRKT has chosen to relaunch itself with a conscious approach that is the opposite and very much its own, by seeking out new talent in the UK and the US.

With his new album ''The Rat Road'', his first in six years, SBTRKT takes us on a new creative adventure of euphoria and melancholy, where footwork merges with 4-step techno, while strident electro and early synths rub shoulders with mutant garage music and pop-inflected future-synth productions, adding new colours to SBTRKT's palette.
